Sensitization to psychostimulant drugs, as well as morphine, subjected to cross-sensitization with stress. The development of morphine sensitization is associated with enhancements in dopamine overflow in the Nucleus accumbens (NAc). This study aimed to examine the role of accumbal D1/D2-like dopamine receptors in restraint stress (RS) induced sensitization to morphine antinociceptive effects. Adult male Wistar rats weighing 220–250 g underwent stereotaxic surgery. Two stainless steel guide cannulae were bilaterally implanted, 1 mm above the NAc injection site. Different solutions of SCH-23390, as a D1-like receptor antagonist or sulpiride, as a D2-like receptor antagonist, were microinjected into the NAc five min before exposure to RS. Restraint stress lasted for 3 h, 10 min after RS termination; animals received a subcutaneous injection of morphine (1 mg/kg) for 3 consecutive days. The procedure was followed by a 5-day drug and/or stress-free period. After that, on the 9th day, the nociceptive response was evaluated by the tail-flick test. The results revealed that intra-NAc administration of D1/D2-like dopamine receptor antagonists, SCH-23390 or sulpiride, respectively, blocked morphine sensitization-induced by RS and morphine co-administration in rats for three consecutive days. This work provides new insight into the determinant role of accumbal dopamine receptors in morphine sensitization produced by RS-morphine co-administration.
Cadmium (Cd) in soil–plant system can abridge plant growth by initiating alterations in root zones. Hydroponics and rhizoboxes are useful techniques to monitor plant responses against various natural and/or induced metal stresses. However, soil based studies are considered more appropriate in order to devise efficient food safety and remediation strategies. The present research evaluated the Cd-mediated variations in elemental dynamics of rhizospheric soil together with in planta ionomics and morpho-physio-biochemical traits of two differentially Cd responsive maize cultivars. Cd-sensitive (31P41) and Cd-tolerant (3062) cultivars were grown in pots filled with 0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 µg/kg CdCl2 supplemented soil. The results depicted that the maize cultivars significantly influenced the elemental dynamics of rhizosphere as well as in planta mineral accumulation under applied Cd stress. The uptake and translocation of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn and Fe from rhizosphere and root cell sap was significantly higher in Cd stressed cv. 3062 as compared to cv. 31P41. In sensitive cultivar (31P41), Cd toxicity resulted in significantly prominent reduction of biomass, leaf area, chlorophyll, carotenoids, protein contents as well as catalase activity in comparison to tolerant one (3062). Analysis of tolerance indexes (TIs) validated that cv. 3062 exhibited advantageous growth and efficient Cd tolerance due to elevated proline, phenolics and activity of antioxidative machinery as compared to cv. 31P41. The cv. 3062 exhibited 54% and 37% less Cd bio-concentration (BCF) and translocation factors (TF), respectively in comparison to cv. 31P41 under highest Cd stress regime. Lower BCF and TF designated a higher Cd stabilization by tolerant cultivar (3062) in rhizospheric zone and its potential use in future remediation plans. 相似文献
The production of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) and 2,4-diacetylphloroglucinol (DAPG) is a major factor in the control of soil-borne
diseases by Pseudomonas fluorescens CHA0. We investigated the impact of different biotic factors on the expression of HCN–in comparison to DAPG biosynthetic
genes in the rhizosphere. To this end, the influence of plant cultivar, pathogen infection, and coinoculation with other biocontrol
strains on the expression of hcnA-lacZ and phlA-lacZ fusion in strain CHA0 was monitored on the roots of bean. Interestingly, all the tested factors influenced the expression
of the two biocontrol traits in a similar way. For both genes, we observed a several-fold higher expression in the rhizosphere
of cv. Derakhshan compared with cvs. Goli and Naz, although bacterial rhizosphere colonization levels were similar on all
cultivars tested. Root infection by Rhizoctonia solani stimulated total phlA and hcnA gene expression in the bean rhizosphere. Coinoculation of strain CHA0 with DAPG-producing P. fluorescens biocontrol strains Pf-68 and Pf-100 did neither result in a substantial alteration of hcnA nor of phlA expression in CHA0 on bean roots. A hydroponic experiment was conducted to assess the possible involvement of polyamines (PAs), abscisic acid (ABA) and anti-oxidative enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT) in adaptation of six populations of Panicum antidotale Retz. to selection pressure (soil salinity) of a wide range of habitats. Plants of six populations were collected from six different habitats with ECe ranging from 3.39 to 19.23 dS m−1 and pH from 7.65 to 5.86. Young tillers from 6-month-old plants were transplanted in plastic containers each containing 10 l of half strength Hoagland's nutrient solution alone or with 150 mol m−3 NaCl. After 42 days growth, contents of polyamines (Put, Spd and Spm) and ABA, and the activities of anti-oxidative enzymes (SOD, POD and CAT) of all populations generally increased under salt stress. The populations collected from highly saline habitats showed a greater accumulation of polyamines and ABA and the activities of anti-oxidative enzymes as compared to those from mild or non-saline habitats. Moreover, Spm/Spd and Put/(Spd + Spm) ratios generally increased under salt stress. However, the populations from highly saline environments had significantly higher Spm/Spd and Put/(Spd + Spm) ratios as compared to those from mild or non-saline environments. Similarly, the populations adapted to high salinity accumulated less Na+ and Cl− in culm and leaves, and showed less decrease in leaf K+ and Ca2+ under salinity stress. Higher activities of anti-oxidative enzymes and accumulation of polyamines and ABA, and increased Spm/Spd and Put/(Spm + Spd) ratios were found to be highly correlated with the degree of adaptability of Panicum to saline environment. 相似文献
IL-18, initially defined as a potent inducer of IFN- γ production, is a systemic, multifunctional cytokine with both pro-cancerous
and anti-cancer activities. The contribution of the IL-18 promoter polymorphisms at positions −607 (C/A) and −137 (G/C) to
cancer development has been reported. We sought to examine IL-18 serum level and its polymorphisms in Iranian women with ovarian
cancer. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at positions −607 (C/A) and −137 (G/C) were analyzed by allele-specific polymerase
chain reaction in 85 women with ovarian cancer and 158 healthy controls. IL-18 serum level was determined using ELISA method.
No significant association was found between the allele, genotype, and haplotype distributions of the SNPs and ovarian cancer.
Mean IL-18 serum level was significantly higher in patients than in controls (P = 0.008). Comparing IL-18 serum levels with genotypes at positions −607 and −137 revealed no significant difference. No association
was also found between IL-18 levels and the disease stage. In conclusion, our results indicate that IL-18 promoter polymorphisms
at positions −607 (C/A) and −137 (G/C) appear not to confer susceptibility to ovarian cancer in Iranian population; however,

Effect of disturbance on root colonization and vertical distribution of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and dark septate
endophytes (DSE) was investigated at two adjacent sites of Lal Suhanra Biosphere Reserve, Pakistan. Disturbance clearly affected
AMF and DSE colonization, vertical distribution of AMF and plant community structure. Mean colonization of AMF and DSE was
slightly less at the disturbed site. Average spore densities, diversity and richness of AMF and DSE were higher at the undisturbed
site. A study of the vertical distribution of AMF associated with the five plant species most common to each study site indicated
that beside AMF and DSE colonization disturbance may affect AMF species composition. Correlation of AMF with DSE is also discussed. 相似文献
A convenient route for the synthesis of some 2-propen-1-one derivatives with E isomeric configuration is described. The activity of the synthesized compounds was evaluated through behavioral studies of apomorphine-induced licking in animal models. It was demonstrated that most of the synthesized compounds showed moderate activity in inhibition of lickings, among which 6a, was the most active compound at 30 mg/kg. 相似文献
Recent reports on immobilization of lipase from Arthrobacter sp. (ABL, MTCC 5125; IIIM isolate) on insoluble polymers have shown altered properties including stability and enantioselectivity. Present work demonstrates a facile method for the preparation of enantiopure β-amino alcohols by modulation of ABL enzyme properties via immobilization on insoluble as well as soluble supports using entrapment/covalent binding techniques. Efficacies of immobilized ABL on insoluble supports prepared from tetraethylorthosilicate/aminopropyltriethoxy silane and soluble supports derived from copolymerization of N-vinyl pyrrolidone-allylglycidyl ether (ANP type)/N-vinyl pyrrolidone-glycidyl methacrylate (GNP type) for kinetic resolution of masked β-amino alcohols have been studied vis-à-vis free ABL enzyme/wet cell biomass. The immobilized lipase on different insoluble/soluble supports has shown 21–110 mg/g protein binding and 30–700 U/g activity for hydrolyzing tributyrin substrate. The findings have shown a significant enhancement in enantioselectivity (ee 99%) vis-à-vis wet cell biomass providing ee 70–90% for resolution of β-amino alcohols. 相似文献
